Look Ma, no hands!
Last time I used voice dictation software was easily 1999 or so. It was really rather horrible and it took over the entire computer when it did its job. It’s amazing what 10 years can do. What you see right here, is the complete and unaltered text of a session with MacSpeech Dictate. I swear to you I have not touched the keyboard once. Well, okay, maybe just once or twice.
The only downside to using software like this is that unless you’re doing it in the middle of an office with a closed door, you look like a complete and absolute fucking idiot. Oh, and by the way, the F bomb is not in the dictionary. It’s really, really, funny to watch someone try and spell it to get this thing to work. At least, I think it is, it’s not like I can see myself while doing this.
