You know, when Snow Leopard came out and one of the big features was “Better Eject”, a lot of folks laughed. They don’t get it.
Eject sucked before then. I keep two encrypted disk images on a USB fob: one is for work, and one is personal (personal projects or whatever). I open both up when working and keep things in their places and then eject both and the fob when I’m done at the end of the day.
In Leo, I had to click on the two disk images, eject them, wait for that to finish, then click on the icon for the fob and eject the fob, wait for that to finish, then pull the disk.
Snow Leo is smarter. I can select all three and hit eject. It’ll figure out who needs to go first, eject them all in the right order, then I pull the fob and walk away.
The best features change your daily life, so that refined eject feature is the best feature ever as my daily workflow is a lot less annoying at the end of the day.
Kudos to the Apple eject team, whoever you are.
