Observations:

The centrepiece of the page is stock photography.

“Working hard” is one of their selling points.

“Macs can take time to learn”.

Three of the six areas mention Office incompatibilities, software Microsoft also releases for the Mac.

Lots of “mays” and “mights”. Nothing substantiated, just planting seeds of doubt.

The difference in each campaign embodies the difference in each company on the whole. Apple sell the Mac’s advantages, Microsoft sell the Mac’s potential disadvantages. Offence vs. defence.

Beside that, the whole thing is just full of inaccuracies or exaggerations designed to scare:

“And Macs can’t connect to an Xbox 360”. I connect to my Xbox from my iMac almost daily.

”[…] the mouse works differently”. Not true.

“With a Mac, it’s harder to set up secure sharing for your photos, music & movies, documents, and even printers with other computers on your home network.” Not true.

“On a Mac, you have to manually set up photo sharing, manually set up music and movie sharing, manually set up file sharing, and manually set up printer sharing.” That’s true, each involves clicking a check box.

Yesterday I was playing around with Xcode and an app in the iPhone Simulator when Ash walks up, looks at my screen, and reaches over and starts tapping on the simulator, furiously trying to make it do something. When I could see he was getting frustrated and disappointed, I handed him my phone and he turned it on, unlocked it, and started playing with the iPod app.

There’s just something amazing about that kid.

Lots of people saying they wish they had Retina Display on iPad. Obviously iOS 4 won’t do that. :-) But I don’t mind. iPad display’s fine.

OK, the iPad’s screen is 1024x768 @ 130dpi. Physical dimensions work out to 7.88”x5.91”.

Those same dimensions at 326 ppi would result in 2568x1926 pixels — more than my current 30” Cinema Display (2560x1600).

Thus, between the display, memory and graphics processing requirements, we’re not getting a iPad + Retina Display any time soon.
